STATE BOARD OF EXAMINERS
MINUTES – Subcommittee Meeting
November 14, 2017 – 1:30 p.m.
Joe R. Williams Building, 5th Floor Conference Room A

The regular meeting of the Subcommittee to the State Board of Examiners was called to order at 700 West State Street, Boise, Idaho, at 1:30p.m. pursuant to Idaho Code §67-2002 and by order of the chair.

The following members were present: Chairman Jani Revier, Division of Financial Management; Tim Hurst, Office of the Secretary of State; Sherman Furey III, Office of the Attorney General; and Brian Benjamin, Office of the State Controller, as assisting secretary to the subcommittee.

Also present were Wayne Harris, Idaho Office of Emergency Management; David Fulkerson, Division of Financial Management; Amber Duke, State Controller’s Office and Jackie McCleve State Controller’s Office.
CONSENT AGENDA

1. Minutes
    Approval of official minutes for the meeting of the Subcommittee to the Board of Examiners on October 10, 2017.

    Resolution: Mr. Hurst moved to place item 1 on the consent agenda. Mr. Furey seconded the motion. The motion carried on a unanimous voice vote.

3. Ada County Sheriff’s Office
    Request for payment pursuant to Idaho Code, 31-2219, in the amount of $4,269.52 for costs incurred by Ada County for the transportation of prisoners sentenced to ISCI and transported to the Ada County jail for July 2017 through September 2017.

    Resolution: Mr. Hurst moved to place item 3 on the consent agenda. Mr. Furey seconded the motion. The motion carried on a unanimous voice vote.
4. Department of Administration Division of Public Works
    Request for recognition of assignment from 3R Investments to Apartment LLC, a transfer of interest in the real property lease by and through the Idaho Industrial Commission, as “Lessee,” and Lessee’s occupancy of 35 Wildcat Way, Suite A, Kellogg, Idaho.

    Discussion:
    Mr. Hurst asked if there is anything that we need to know about this lease
    Mr. Furey responded that he spoke with the attorneys and this is standard for anytime an assignment is done.
    Mr. Benjamin then responded that they did fill out the proper request for assignment for the Board of Examiners

    Resolution: Mr. Hurst moved to place item 4 on the consent agenda. Mr. Furey seconded the motion. The motion carried on a unanimous voice vote.

INFORMATIONAL AGENDA
    5. Office of the Attorney General
      a) Notification that Paul J. Augustine of the firm of Augustine Law Offices, PLLC, has been appointed pursuant to Idaho Code §67-1409 as a Special Deputy Attorney General for the purpose of representing the State of Idaho, Industrial Special Indemnity Fund in the matter of Brent Gerdes.

      b) Notification that James D. Johnson of the firm of William Law, in P.C. Missoula, Montana, has been appointed pursuant to Idaho Code §67-1409 as a Special Deputy Attorney General for the purpose of representing the State of Idaho, in the matter of Humane Society of the United States v. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

      c) Notification that Anthony M. Valdez of the firm Valdez Law Office, PLLC has been appointed pursuant to Idaho Code §67-1409 as a Special Deputy Attorney General for the purpose of representing the State of Idaho, Industrial Special Indemnity Fund in the matter of Juan Carlos Estrada.

      d) Notification that Paul J. Augustine of the firm of Augustine Law Offices, PLLC, has been appointed pursuant to Idaho Code §67-1409 as a Special Deputy Attorney General for the purpose of representing the State of Idaho, Industrial Special Indemnity Fund in the matter of Anthony R. Cornwall.
