SUBJECT: ONLINE FORM W-2 AVAILABLE ON THE SCO WEB PAGE

Beginning January 13, 2006, Online Form W-2 for tax year 2005 will be available to view and/or print from
the State Controller’s Office Web page. This new online service will also allow state employees access to their
Form W-2 for prior tax years 2002 through 2004.

We want you to help us inform state employees about Online Form W-2s by doing two things:

1. Display the attached Online Form W-2 poster at your agency in a high access area.
2. Send a news release to your agency’s employees on January 11, 2006. This news release will be
e-mailed to you on January 10, 2006. All you have to do is forward the e-mail to your agency’s employees.

By doing these two things, you will help us inform your employees about this new service designed to give them quick
access to either view or print their Form W-2.
