Currently, two copies of the Garnishment Notification letters are being sent to the agency for distribution.

Beginning January 23, 2009 the State Controller’s Office will send one copy to the agency for filing and mail one copy directly to the employee. The letter will be sent using the address listed on the Employee Information System.

This procedure is for the notification letters only. At this time, agencies are still required to pick up the garnishment payroll checks and distribute them to the employees.
