Subject:Survey Regarding Leave Requests in I-Time
Sent Date:02/08/2005

An earlier memo was sent last year with the question and conclusion regarding employee’s request for time off. The question was: “Do agencies need advanced written documentation of an employee’s request for time off?” The answer affirmed by the Legislative Auditors Office was, “No. It is a management option and not an audit or statutory requirement. The employee’s signature and a supervisor’s signature on the employee’s timesheet is certification that the timesheet is correct and that the employee worked the actual hours stated on the timesheet.”

With the major components of I-Time complete, we would like to hear from agencies on the benefits of a leave request enhancement to I-Time. We are currently assessing the need and cost benefits for this type of function in I-Time and would like to have your input. If a generic leave request were to be added would your agency be interested? If you have any additional comments regarding I-Time and possible future enhancements we would like to hear about these as well.

We appreciate your time and look forward to your comments.
