| Subject: | New change reason to be used to bring an employee’s pay rate from the transitional amount up to the standard minimum amount |
| Sent Date: | 07/07/2006 |
At the last All Agency HR meeting, we discussed the possibility of adding a change reason to move employees from the transitional (pay grade “A”) salary amount to the minimum salary amount of the new pay grade. Beginning Monday, July 10th, there will be a new change reason code (PA) to use to move these employees to the minimum salary amount instead of using a merit increase (CC) code.
NOTE: The pay grade “A” will remain on the employee’s personnel record and the class code until all incumbents have moved into the standard pay range.
This change reason code can be used for classified and non-classified employees. There will need to be a current satisfactory performance evaluation for classified employees for this action to be processed successfully in order to meet the requirements as set out in HB 844. This action will not require a matrix as these are payline moves. However, please consider compression issues as you move these employees. In resolving these compression issues, a matrix will be required.
NOTE: We will not be changing the coding of earlier merits that were given to move employees to the new minimum salary amount.
