Subject:Valid E-mail Addresses
Sent Date:07/19/2007

I wanted to send out an e-mail to let everyone know about the upcoming changes in our office. We will be changing the process on web password resets for an employee. Currently, a request has to be sent to our help desk from a valid state e-mail or a security contact person from the agency. In the near future the employee will be able to request their password be sent to them by correctly answering a challenge question. Our system will then send an e-mail to the employee with their password information.

Many of you already know that our web applications (IPOPS, I-Time, etc.) generate automatic e-mails to users. After reviewing our database we noticed that not all employees have a valid e-mail account. With our up coming changes I wanted to remind everyone how important it will be to have a valid e-mail address for your employees.

In the near future we will be reviewing the process of how the security mailers are delivered to employees. Currently, our office sends the printed security mailers to the agencies then it is the agencies responsibility to get them to the employee. Our proposed change would be to e-mail the logon information to the user with the e-mail account that we have on file.

If you have any questions regarding how to update the e-mail address for your employees I would be more than happy to give you some suggestions. I also wanted your feedback on any issues, problems or questions that you may foresee with these changes.

Thank You,
