State Controller Donna Jones Earns International Recognition
for Financial Reporting & Government Transparency
Boise, Idaho – For the eleventh consecutive year, an international government accounting association has awarded Idaho State Controller Donna Jones its coveted Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
“Citizens deserve a clear accounting of how their tax dollars are spent. This award confirms our Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is written with the spirit of full disclosure in mind,” said Idaho State Controller Donna Jones. “We are committed to transparent, responsible government.”
“Our prior fiscal year’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report was judged by an impartial panel of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) to meet the highest standards of excellence, and for clearly telling how, and where, Idahoans’ tax dollars are spent,” said Jones.
The GFOA, a nonprofit and non-partisan professional association, serves approximately 16,000 government finance professionals in the United States and Canada.
Copies of Idaho’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports, as well as non-technical financial data in the Citizens’ Guide, can be downloaded free of charge from State Controller Jones’ website at http://www.sco.idaho.gov. The Legislative Handbook, a directory of Idaho’s highest paid state employees, is also available online.
