IDAHO ELECTED OFFICIALS BRIEFED ON PACIFIC RIM
SECURITY BY LT. GEN. BRUCE WRIGHT

Boise, Idaho – Lt. Gen. Bruce “Orville” Wright briefed top Idaho elected officials, including Idaho State Controller Donna Jones, on Wednesday regarding Pacific Rim security and the threats posed by North Korea.

General Wright, a native of Castleford, Idaho, serves our nation as Commander of the U.S. Forces in Japan, and Commander of the 5th Air Force based at Yokota Air Base, Japan. With these two commands he is the senior U.S. military representative in Japan and commands all of U.S. Air Force units in Japan.

Wright’s briefing focused on the importance of having well-trained and properly equipped troops, and described the political climate between North Korea, China and Japan. He also commended Idaho’s own 366th Fighter Wing stationed at Mountain Home AFB and outlined the critical role this wing fulfills on the front line of our nation’s security.

“Idaho continues to play a pivotal role in our nation’s security,” said Idaho State Controller Donna Jones. “It makes me feel exceptionally proud and thankful to hear of the contributions Idaho soldiers have made towards protecting our nation.”
