STATE CONTROLLER JONES NAMED TO NATIONAL LEADERSHIP POSTS
Boise, Idaho – Idaho State Controller Donna Jones was tapped by the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers (NASACT) to help lead the organization’s strategically important International Committee. As Vice Chairman Jones will help guide the committee in fulfilling its mission to provide state-level management leadership in international accounting issues. The committee provides NASACT members training and educational opportunities, and sponsors international assistance and exchange projects with other worldwide financial management organizations.
“NASACT is a premier organization for government finance and accounting professionals,” said State Controller Jones. “I am honored to have this opportunity to serve as Vice Chairman of the International Committee and to help facilitate the global exchange of financial management principles and trends.”
NASACT Executive Director R. Kinney Poynter also announced Jones’ appointment to serve on the organization’s Leadership Conference Task Force and on the critical Government Accounting Standards and Market Oversight Committee (GASMO).
“I am particularly excited to serve on the GASMO committee,” exclaimed Jones. “This committee monitors issues related to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board and the municipal bond market. It helps ensure government accounting rules promote transparency and uphold the public trust.”
