JONES CONTINUES TO SET FIRSTS IN IDAHO POLITICS
Boise, Idaho – Idaho’s 20th State Controller, Donna Jones, took the oath of office on Monday, January 1st at the State Capitol in Boise. Long-time friend and Supreme Court Justice Jim Jones administered the oath in a public ceremony amid a crowd of family and friends.
“This is an important moment in my life, and a historical moment for the State of Idaho” said Jones. “I’m honored the public has entrusted me to serve as Idaho’s chief fiscal officer.”
Donna Jones, a Payette native who was first elected to the Idaho House in 1989, served 12 distinguished years which culminated in her being the first woman selected to chair the powerful House Revenue and Taxation Committee. In addition to being a female trailblazer in legislative politics, Jones is the first women to serve as Idaho State Controller.
“I have much to do and there is a great team in place. We’re ready to roll our sleeves up and get to work for the people of Idaho,” concluded Jones.
