Mainframe Connectivity and Password Policies
E.I.S. Payroll Online Inquiry systems operate on a platform that is only accessible through Terminal Emulation. State of Idaho Agencies are responsible for procuring, installing, and configuring their own Terminal Emulation clients, commonly called TN3270 clients.
The following TN3270 client software is in use across State Agencies at this time, and for any agency seeking recommendations, we suggest you begin with this list:
Intial user name and password are emailed via Secure Email to each user directly once the user's security request has been fulfilled. Multiple credentials are often required to these systems, and are denoted as: CESN username and password, STARS Operator ID and password, and Employee Information Syst
em (NATP) Security Code.
CESN username and password: (used for the initial sign-in to the terminal session)
STARS Operator ID and password:
Users are encouraged to change the generated password after signing in for the first time and to follow best practice policies for creating and maintaining passwords.
