Public Records Request
State Controller Brandon D Woolf believes in the citizen’s right to know how the government conducts its business. In compliance with the Idaho Public Records Act, Idaho Code §74-101 through §74-126, this office has adopted a
Public Records Request Policy. It is shown here to better inform the public of their rights and responsibilities under the law.
In line with this, the Office of the State Controller can provide most financial records to the public regarding state spending and payroll. Much of this information can already be found at the
Transparent Idaho website.
With the exception of confidential records, which by law are exempt, certain information acquired and maintained by this office is available to the public under Idaho’s Public Records Act.
This office does not maintain details of financial transactions or the accompanying documentation; therefore, specific information regarding a particular state agency should be requested from the agency itself. You may go to idaho.gov for a complete listing of all state agencies, boards and commissions.
