Retirement Sick Leave Reduction Report B-444955

PurposeReports retiring benefited employees each pay period.

Per Idaho Code 67-5333(2), upon retirement from state service, benefited employees may be eligible to use half of their sick leave balance (up to the maximum hours allowed by law) towards the cost of state maintained insurance programs.

The report will include beginning sick leave balance, the number of sick hours that have been reduced, and the remaining sick leave balance.

Sick leave hours will only be reduced if:

  • The employee has separated with a retirement change reason code
  • The employee is not active at another state agency, and
  • The employee has not previously retired from state employment

Additional Information: University, Judicial, and payroll MVA's will be excluded from the PERSI sick leave reduction process.
